What makes NightOwl-Flex different from Ultra or TLM?

The Flex is the cost-effective middle option designed specifically for Modbus sensors only (limited to 3 sensors to keep subscription costs down). Unlike Ultra which supports multiple sensor types, Flex is monitoring-only with no relay outputs. Flex collects data every minute and uploads every 15 minutes, while TLM only reports daily. Flex requires 12V DC power (vs Ultra’s 110V) but offers more frequent data than TLM’s hourly collection.

Can I manage multiple sites with Flex?

Yes, all three products (Flex, Ultra, TLM) use the same web dashboard system for managing multiple sites. You can monitor all installations from a single interface with cloud data storage, email/text alerts, and customizable alarms across your entire network.

Is Flex secure enough for municipal use?

The Flex uses cellular connectivity with global SIM for secure data transmission and integrates with the same cloud-based dashboard system as Ultra and TLM. However, unlike Ultra which offers relay outputs for control functions, Flex is monitoring-only.

Do I need professional installation for Flex?

Flex installation is simpler than Ultra but more complex than TLM. You need electrical skills for 12V DC power, mounting the waterproof enclosure, and wiring up to 3 Modbus sensors. Unlike Ultra’s multiple connection types (analog, pulse, Modbus), Flex only handles Modbus connections. The built-in Wi-Fi allows immediate field verification of sensor data before leaving the site.

Who should choose Flex?

Choose Flex when you need more frequent monitoring than TLM (15-minute uploads vs daily) but don’t need Ultra’s full capabilities like analog sensors, pulse inputs, or relay outputs. Ideal for monitoring-only applications with up to 3 Modbus sensors where cost control is important. Perfect for water systems that need regular updates but don’t require the control functions or unlimited sensor capacity of Ultra.
