My name is Jim Blair, and I own a water well drilling and service company in central Texas. I am the second generation of our family to own this company — and the third generation is actively involved daily.
We have been in business since 1980, drilling and servicing both domestic and commercial water wells. Over the past 40 years, we have grown to be one of the largest water well companies in Texas. I know what it’s like to stand in mud all day, with Kopr-Kote on my shirt, mud in my hair, and PVC glue burning the cuts in my hands. I know what it’s like to stand behind a pump truck, breathing the diesel fumes, with rust and manganese falling on my head. I have made the heat-shrink splice kits and installed pumps and tanks by the thousands.
While I am not the guy who designed all the technology that makes the NightOwl Monitoring & Control System run, I am the guy who designed the dashboard. Being a water well professional, I also realize the limitations of our industry. We don’t have the time (or the dexterity) to wire up all those small wires in each of their landing spots in the box.
